Good news it looks like the SEO changes that Rich has undertaken on TwistLocal.co.uk are staring to take affect. Visitor numbers are starting to increase day by day.
For those of you who don't know Twistlocal is a project that me and Rich built several years ago to see if we could develop a (at that time) very seo friendly business directory for Wales with all our own code , no templates or frameworks or such like. Well 10 months later Twistlocal 1 was completed and i have to say it most definitely is the hardest system we have had to build for both complexity and size.
On the upside, most of the techniques we have mastered for certain ' how to dos ' where learnt whilst building TwistLocal and allowed us at an early stage of our business to understand that a small focused team can deliver on big projects.
Twist Local is now at version 2.x and in fairness still looks decent, and still attracting new business listings.
The future of Twist local? We are always (me and Rich) tossing ideas around regarding additions but it would be all to easy to add a twitter or a technology clone of some other site to Twistlocal so in the short term the plan is simple to keep getting businesses on the system to truly make Twistlocal one of the premier free directories in Wales and introduce a low cost advertising option to provide more business exposure.
If anyone has any (sensible ideas) reply you never know
