Requirements
To create a directory for Wales that would allow businesses to promote their services and special offers on-line to local customers for FREE. The same level of functionality needed to be extended to community groups and associations.
The site needed to allow full administration of these listings and services all in a secure environment and provide alternative advertising options for revenue generation.
Design
The design and planning involved pre-start market and keyword research, forming of strategic partnerships and alliances, development of business plan, marketing strategy and finance sourcing.
Initial research highlighted the problems of a search box, instead we opted for a well crafted link structure, primarily for simplicity of navigation and secondly for exposure via search engines.

Development
The process involved the development of brand, colour palette and wire frame concepts which were further developed into final chosen pieces.
Back-end administration, reporting and content management systems were also developed in-house, with their relative data being stored in a Microsoft SQL database.

This involved the set up of multi-user statistic accounts providing detailed reporting of the site in real time 24 hrs a day, monthly keyword rankings and reporting.
Due to the sheer size of the site, over 12,000 unique pages, a pro-active Search Engine Optimisation package was chosen to include analysis and pro-active design and development updates, these are carried out monthly to fine tune and raise on-line visibility, as well as any other work that may be required on the system.
XML site map creation, submissions and re-submissions to Google, Yahoo and MSN to raise the visibility of every page. This is also backed up with on-going submissions to various other high profile sites.
